What happens after a SAP referral has been made?


Once the student is officially referred to SAP, the following steps will take place:
  • A teacher consultation is conducted to gather additional information
  • The child's parent/guardian is contacted
  • Special area teacher input forms are distributed to gather additional information
  • Concerns are presented to the SAP team at the next meeting
  • The SAP team consults and makes recommendations based upon the child's needs
  • A follow-up teacher consultation is held to discuss the recommended interventions
  • A parent conference is conducted to discuss the suggested recommendations
  • The suggested recommendations begin (if parental consent is given)
